Filipino School of Chicago

In 2024, the Rizal Center established the Filipino School of Chicago, which required a distinctive logo. I collaborated closely with the school's team to develop a design that reflects its mission and values. The logo I created combines the sun from the national flag of the Philippines with the imagery of a book, symbolizing both the rich cultural heritage and the educational focus of the institution.

The school's mission is to offer comprehensive programming for students from pre-K through 12th grade, with a focus on teaching Tagalog and other Filipino languages, as well as Filipino history, art, music, dance, and social justice leadership. The Filipino School of Chicago’s mission: “To provide holistic education rooted in cultural preservation and enrichment, individual and collective growth, community building, and social justice.”
